Associate Account Executive

About Health Roads

At Health Roads, we focus on making health and human services organizations cost-efficient and process-efficient using modern information systems. We believe that when people, process, and technology are woven together judiciously, most business problems can be solved.

In the health and human services sector, there are still many unsolved problems. The challenges of the 21st century cannot be met without thoughtful deployment of modern technologies that improve processes and free staff to do higher value-added work.

Health Roads has evolved from a consulting firm into a product-focused technology company, building purpose-built platforms for the social care ecosystem. Our three products — SocialRCM ®, QConnect™, and NextCareEngage™ — form the complete infrastructure for sustainable Medicaid service delivery.

About the Role

As an Associate Account Executive at Health Roads, you'll be the first point of contact for county governments and healthcare organizations navigating Medicaid transformation and community support services. This isn't transactional sales, you'll engage with CFOs, Behavioral Health Directors, and County Administrators on complex, high-value opportunities ($500K-$2M+ ACV). You'll work directly with our Sales Director on strategic deals involving county health systems, community-based organizations, and behavioral health providers across the United States.

This role offers exceptional learning in enterprise healthcare sales, government procurement, and revenue cycle management. You'll develop expertise in healthcare policy (Medicaid, community supports, justice-involved services) while building relationships with decision-makers who control multi-million dollar budgets.

Why This Role is Strategic

With federal and state mandates increasingly requiring counties to implement community support services and justice-involved population billing, you'll be engaging prospects during a critical market window. Your work directly impacts Health Roads' growth in a $500M+ addressable market. The counties and community-based organizations you help bring into our pipeline today become the multi-million dollar implementations of tomorrow.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct 50-75 targeted outbound calls daily to county health directors, CFOs, behavioral health administrators, and community-based organization leaders nationwide

  • Research and qualify prospects based on Medicaid program readiness, community support services implementation, justice-involved services, billing challenges, and organizational structure

  • Schedule qualified discovery meetings for the Sales Director with key decision-makers at county and CBO accounts

  • Maintain CRM discipline, documenting all prospect interactions, call notes, objections, and competitive intelligence

  • Partner with Marketing to develop outreach sequences for specific verticals (counties, CBOs, behavioral health providers, correctional health)

  • Leverage AI tools for prospect research, email personalization, objection handling, and account intelligence gathering

  • Build industry knowledge through webinars, partner calls, and healthcare policy updates (state Medicaid programs, CMS guidance, federal regulations)

What You'll Need

  • 1-2 years in B2B sales, business development, or SDR role (SaaS, healthcare, or government sectors strongly preferred)

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding activity metrics (calls, meetings booked, pipeline generated)

  • Exceptional phone presence with ability to engage C-level executives and senior administrators in consultative conversations

  • Strong research skills and ability to quickly understand complex healthcare policy topics (Medicaid, community supports, justice-involved services)

  • Self-directed work style with strong organizational skills, time management, and CRM discipline

  • Resilience and positive attitude when facing rejection, long sales cycles, and complex government procurement processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with county government structure, state Medicaid programs, or community-based organizations

  • Experience with healthcare revenue cycle management, Medicaid billing, or EHR systems

  • Understanding of government RFP processes and public sector procurement

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field

You're ideal for this position if you:

  • Love the hunt: You're energized by prospecting, enjoy overcoming objections, and see each "no" as one step closer to "yes"

  • Think strategically: You understand that government sales requires patience, relationship-building, and understanding complex organizational dynamics

  • Learn voraciously: You're genuinely curious about healthcare policy, enjoy becoming an expert in your domain, and stay current on industry trends

  • Communicate with confidence: You can hold your own in conversations with senior executives and translate complex technical concepts into business value

  • Want career growth: You see SDR as a stepping stone to closing enterprise deals and building a lucrative sales career
