Mission alone does not keep a community organization sustainable. Getting paid for the work it already delivers does.
A recent BluePath Health assessment of 33 CBOs found that organizations using a case management platform were:
2.8x more ready to manage eligibility, claims and payment tracking
Nearly 2x more ready to meet documentation and audit requirements
2.3x more ready to exchange data securely with partners
One story that I can't forget: a small CBO managing billing on its own waited four to six months for reimbursement. That delay affected its ability to hire additional community health workers—and raised questions about its long-term viability.
This is why we brought together leaders from Bonterra, Health Roads, one of our joint customers and an experienced community health consultant.
In this webinar, we discuss how:
Bonterra Apricot supports case management and service documentation
Health Roads SocialRCM turns documented services into cleaner claims and collectible revenue
QConnect enables the interoperability and data exchange increasingly expected by payers and public programs
CBOs can build a stronger foundation for CalAIM, Medicaid and emerging Rural Health Transformation opportunities
Technology alone is not the answer. But the right case management, billing and interoperability infrastructure can help turn good community work into sustainable community impact.
Assessment findings are from BluePath Health’s “Getting Paid for the Care You Deliver: What 33 CBOs Taught Us About Care Management Readiness,” funded by the California Health Care Foundation. The report notes that these findings show an association with readiness and do not, by themselves, establish causation.
